The Mathilda Sweater Jr. is worked from the top down. First, the upper part of the back is worked using short rows. Stitches are then picked up along both sides to shape the shoulders, before the two sections are joined to form the front. The body is worked in the round with a pattern on the front and finished with a split and garter stitch edging at the bottom. Stitches are then picked up for the neckband and, finally, for the sleeves, which are worked with decreases and finished with a garter stitch edging.
